This forum uses categories and tags to organize discussions. Topics can be created or moved to any of these categories and to each topic you can add a number of tags. The trick however is to know where a topic belongs and which tag to add. This doc is going to explain the logic and reasoning behind it in order to help people to choose where to post.
- The Activism category is about doing things in your local area or online. Organizing and participating in Events, work on Projects, ask for Support and communicate back to the community via Reports.
- The Train of thought category is mostly about discussing the transition towards a post-scarcity society. You may share Train of thought topics that show positive or negative trends that inspire change. This may also be in different formats, such as Videos, Audio, Articles and Images.
- The Co-initiatives category is a method to arrive at decisions that affects our community as a whole.
- The Lounge category is basically anything that doesn’t fit in the above categories and in a sense are also off-topic to TZM. This may also include suggestions to improve the forum.
We have a few main categories which include some subcategories. Furthermore, we also have tags. You should see these as a way to zoom in on the specifics of the topic in order to organize it best. Where the main categories are very broad, such as Activism, but if the topic is about an update from your chapter, you may post it in the subcategory Reports. If your report is about e.g. the Dutch chapter, you may add the tag nl. Now your topic is specifically categorized as an activism report from The Netherlands.
It’s encouraged to use the right (sub)category so that people can find and subscribe to the right information and get the notifications they want (see the bell icon in categories, tags and topics to configure your subscriptions).
Each category includes an about topic which is pinned to the top of each (sub)category and explains what it is about and what you should expect there. The most detailed about topic we have is the co-initiative topic. Which explains the full workflow within that category including the subcategories.
You may also assign tags. These are not bound to a specific (sub)category. One use for them is to tag projects because your project may have topics in Projects, Reports, Support and Events. Also the country tags make sense to use in different (sub)categories so that people can get a quick overview of the local activities. One thing to note is that not all tags are available in each (sub)category. To make the selection easier, some tags and tag groups are only available in some (sub)categories. Therefore, make sure to first select the proper (sub)category before opening the tag selection menu.
