Also, according to this paper, early neoliberalism, from which we started to base modern capitalist system, had fascist elements in it, so, fascism is not just a separate system, distinct from today’s capitalism, but are connected.
In both systems, there is a class that exploits the general public, both systems are based on markets, both are inherently non-democratic, among other similarities.

I would argue that any system that doesn’t function leads to authoritarian regimes to sustain some kind of stability or just control. The same can be said of socialist and communist countries when they start to fail. But also on a smaller scale, such as when companies or social groups start to fall apart.
