It aims to maximize quality of life, happiness, and fulfillment for all, creating a society where people thrive physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. While it offers greater potential for human flourishing than capitalism or basic democratic socialism, it remains constrained by a monetary system.

Combining humanist socialism with a resource-based economy significantly enhances human well-being. This system would be democratically managed to meet human needs, with collective ownership of production and resource allocation based on needs rather than profit. Automation would reduce toil, and sustainability would be a priority. While it greatly reduces inequality and environmental destruction compared to capitalism and socialism, it still relies on some human decision-making.

A global resource-based economy represents the optimal system for human well-being. In this model, the planet’s resources are managed as a common heritage, aiming to meet everyone’s basic needs and promote flourishing. Advanced technologies like AI and renewable energy would create abundance and eliminate scarcity. The economy would be sustainable and regenerative, with decisions based on scientific principles and the best interests of humanity. This system would eradicate poverty, inequality, war, and environmental destruction, allowing people to pursue education, creativity, and personal growth, representing the highest level of human well-being achievable with current technology.
