The Global Chip Shortage: Impact, Outlook and Recovery

It will take Europe/US 10 years to catch up with Taiwan in terms of chip production technologies. If we think life is hard now with the dependency on Russian gas, let’s not underestimate what Chinese sanctions would mean for the west. Not only just for computer chips of course… It’s also not efficient to mine resources in Africa, produce them in Asia, then package them in the US and then ship them to Europe. We need localization, but also cooperation in an open-source culture. Which is basically (near) impossible in the current cultural and economic zeitgeist.
