The iPhone 16 Is a Joke. Here's Why

And the iPhone 15 released one year ago. Besides making a ton of profits, what’s the point of releasing a phone or any product so early?

Because if you didn’t do any innovation or improvement, then you should not release the product to the public, and continue innovating until you got a better product.

And this also includes improving working conditions, making the processes more efficient, the materials more sustainable, the distribution systems more equitable…

I think there was innovation in the new release. But they probably could’ve anticipated that and offer e.g. an upgrade module for those who need it. But that requires a total redesign of the iPhone. It probably needs to be more like a Fairphone in that case.

Although more and more things are contained in software abilities in these new models. Sometimes this requires specialized hardware. But often it doesn’t and then of course it’s planned obsolescence.

In any case, the motto is buy, consume and throw away  And that’s great for the economy. Time to shift our economic view towards sustainability on a planetary scale. Hopefully we will get there one day
