The transhumanism

Good morning
On the subject of transhumanism, the current of thought which advocates the longevity of humans, the objective of living a long life through the progress of science
What is your position?
THANKS
Good day

How about you kickoff the discussion with your views on this subject first and explain why it relates to TZM?

Good morning
Concerning transhumanism, assuming that the birth rate would be high with an increase in centenarians, this will cause a problem of distribution of resources between the living and the dead, in order to present my argument, in connection with which zeigeist can have its opinion ,at the level of this theme
THANKS

I think transhumanism is an evolutionary step. I don’t think it may cause resource issues. Developed countries have very low birthrates. Transhumanism likely occurs in developed countries. So I think it will even out all things. But this is highly theoretical of course. As long as transhumanism is ethically done and not applied for military reasons or only for the super rich. But yeah, I guess we all know the world works a bit different

You may also want to have a look at TESCREAL, which is a term coined by Timnit Gebru (a computer scientist) and Émile P. Torres (a philosopher). We follow Timnit on Linkedin and came across the term in one of her posts.

TESCREAL stands for “transhumanism, extropianism, singularitarianism, cosmism, rationalism, effective altruism, and longtermism.” They believe these ideologies are interconnected and share common origins, and argue that this movement uses the threat of human extinction to justify costly or harmful projects.

I am pro-biology over pro-machine. I support transhumanism, but only on a medical enhancement level.

Things like uploading your mind to a computer and other post-humanist tendencies go too far due to the risk of exploitation and mind farming, selling the service only to sell more and more, and making everyone buy more and more inside that simulation (because permanent simulated socialist utopias and complete egalitarianism does not sell well). Being pro-biology simply means acknowledging the ethical concerns of transhumanism and its posthumanist reaches, not bioconservatism.
