What Socialism Could Look Like

In this Our Changing Climate climate change video essay, I examine what ecosocialism might look like in the future. From zero-carbon, accessible, and free public transit, to low-cost housing, all the way to a planned economy, an ecosocialist future would seek to bring better well-being to all people and the planet.

Why are we focusing on socialism, and other labour-based systems, in the 21st century, where our goal should be to automate, and get rid of labour, as much as possible?

Indeed, to enable “ecosocialism” you need a global distributed digital_feedback system to monitor the ecosystem and resources to enable sustainable strategic_access, through automation and localization. A modern way to arrive at decisions would then be the scientific method and an open-source culture. You then are not talking about socialism anymore, it becomes a Resource Based Economy topic.

The “ecosocialism” movement to me seems like a last resort of socialism to stay relevant in changing times. But basically a total rewrite of the system is needed.

I would also not take @ixue4g too seriously. He/she romanticizes authoritarian regimes and advocates for dictatorships as a transition plan.

@Kees @AccessistIntl I don’t support socialism but we need to bring types of people socialist communist or anarchist on our side if we wish to make collective transition . 2nd thing dictatorship is only means we have . With current political and economic sphere . If you propose any alternative system. You will be crush by capitalist powered countries. Don’t forget the movement capitalist countries run out of there own resource they will invade you country.

No, we don’t to suck up to random tinpot dictators and failed ideologies of the 20th century.
