He makes excellent points! It’s a loss he dropped out of TZM. Although in recent days he seems to see the current system as great. He thinks e.g. that when the 3rd world has a few more dollars in purchasing power the system works. While ignoring the long term effects of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution, which in particular hits the 3rd world. So that short term benefit after decades/centuries of exploitation is good according to him, even though that succes will be nullified in this century. He seems a Steven Pinker thinker these days. Of course I hope he’s right. The easiest way to solve everything is by not changing a thing. But I find that hard to believe.
Yes, it is very sad the role he plays now. I have seen several people who, after being disappointed with TZM, turned to an opposite ideology. It’s as if they need to prove to the world that they are not those idealists they were. Of course, in addition to that, to be an advocate of capitalism it is necessary to be totally lacking in social consciousness and sensitivity for nature. Evidently, to be a TZM activist, rationality is not enough.
My intention was not to publicize Berkowitz. I hesitated a lot whether to post his videos or not.
It’s fine to publish his content. I think his content is great! And it doesn’t hurt to also listen to his criticism to keep us sharp.
